Darfur

The Sudanese government helped arm the Janjaweed herdsmen against the farmers of Darfur in a battle over land use rights that accelerated into massacres, rapes, starvation, disease, and displacements. Close to .4 million farmers were killed.

The Rohingya are not a recognized ethnic group in Myanmar and do not have the right to citizenship. That is why they are called the world’s largest stateless people. Rohingya in a refugee camp in Myanmar 2013.

Rohingya Expulsions

In 1994, Hutus massacred over 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus. Families saw confessed killers return to their neighborhoods.
